For many years, I had the privilege of helping build and operate two significant electrical contracting companies. During that time, I saw firsthand how much valuable electrical material is left over after projects are completed.

Changes in specifications, project overruns, canceled orders, replacement parts and excess purchasing can leave contractors with shelves, storage areas and warehouses filled with usable supplies. These materials may have substantial value, but contractors often lack an efficient way to identify, market and sell them.

At the same time, contractors are constantly searching for reasonably priced, readily available or hard-to-find electrical parts.

That is why we are developing Elextrade—a member network designed specifically for electrical contractors to buy, sell and trade surplus electrical parts and supplies.

Elextrade is intended to help members:

• Convert excess and leftover supplies into cash or purchasing value
• Clear valuable warehouse and storage space
• Organize and better understand the inventory they already own
• Purchase electrical parts at substantial discounts
• Locate difficult-to-find, discontinued or urgently needed parts
• Trade surplus supplies with other electrical contractors

• Gain access to inventory before it is offered through outside sales channels

Because the value of the Elextrade network will grow as more contractors participate, we are beginning with a limited, invitation-only group of Founding Members.

You are being invited because of your experience and involvement in the electrical contracting industry.

As a Founding Member, you will have an opportunity to help shape the network before its broader launch. We want to learn what types of surplus materials contractors have available, which products they purchase most frequently, and what services would make Elextrade most useful to their businesses.

Founding Members may receive benefits such as:

There is no obligation to buy or sell anything simply by becoming a Founding Member. At this stage, we are inviting a select group of contractors to join the network, provide input and identify potential surplus inventory or purchasing needs.

Most contractors will participate in both roles. On one project, you may have excess parts to supply. On another, you may need to quickly purchase a discounted or difficult-to-find item from another member.

Our goal is to create a trusted network in which electrical contractors help one another recover value, reduce waste, lower purchasing costs and gain faster access to the supplies they need.
